Ricordando le considerazioni fatte tempo fa, aggiungo altro materiale alla questione…

Iniziamo da una prima esperienza tutto sommato negativa…

Per poi passare al secondo giorno dove tutto diventa ottimo, per fortuna…

What a change one day makes! First day I was having more problems than I wanted (several crashes, sluggishness, WLAN configuration problems etc.) I don’t know if the device needs one day to warm up or am I unconsciously avoiding possible problem situations.
**Second day the device was smooth, web surfing was quick and no sudden reboots or crashes. **
Well, except one: Web browser refused to start (popup appeared “Opening page” and then disappeared, but browser didn’t start), reboot fixed it.

I was first a bit worried about advertised three hour battery time. Yesterday I used the device for straight four hours (wlan wasn’t always on) in various activities watching pictures from MMC, listening music, reading PDFs, surfing web etc.

**After four hours, when my wife informed me, that the device will be thrown out of the window in a couple of seconds, battery indicator had still two notches left. **
So 770’s battery life is much longer than my wife’s patience.

O meglio: quasi tutto,no? :)

Una caratteristica interessante: se lo si tiene acceso, e si mette la cover per chiuderlo, passa automaticamente in stand-by!! Very cool…

Per finire una interessante discussione su un uso possibile di “note taking tool” del nokia 770, a mio avviso un compito non facile, ma possbile…

**Il primo passo nello sviluppo di un sito web normalmente è rappresentato da uno scarabocchio su carta che rappresenta una possibile idea di interfaccia e/o funzionalità dello stesso.** A seguito viene scarabocchiata una pseudo mappa del sito ed una storyboard per quelle pagine che necessitano di una qualche complicata interazione con l’utente. Alcuni realizzano questi scarabocchi su carta, altri preferiscono lavorare su photoshop altri ancora su powerpoint. L’importante è riuscire a rendere bene l’idea di quello che il sito dovrà fare prima di iniziare a lavorarci sopra. scopro un nuovo potenziale uso del 770 per merito di un programma che avevo gia' visto, ma che avevo sottovalutato...

E’ una modalita’ nuova di scrittura che permette di non staccare mai il pennino dal pad e fermersi solo sulle lettere che vogliamo, creando figure geometriche… notevole e molto veloce poi… sarebbe da provare…

Al momento e’ scritto in Java e gira sotto Windows ma non sarebbe male se venisse portato sul 770,no? :)

Ci sono poi altre piccole storielle che raccontano alcune peculiarita’ forse non molto considerate:

I was cuddling up with my girlfriend tonight and we decided to look up some info on the net that we were talking about.
The problem was that my laptop was inconveniently out of reach, and would require us to go outside into the cold and leave the nice warm room.
It was then that I realized that my Nokia 770 was sitting in my coat pocket.
I pulled it out and fired up the web browser, and soon we were Googling our way to knowledge. It was so convenient that I think for the first time it just really made me realize the potential of this type of device.

Una delle cose che ci mancano in questi tool fino ad adesso era il fatto che fossero sempre usabili e pronti all’uso… invece di dover aspettare tempi biblici di avvio del software…

La possibilita’ di avere un device sempre pronto e estremamente portabile invece colma un gap di usabilita’ molto chiaro e molto sentito, finalmente!!

Oppure ancora un uso non ordinario del device, che se viene messo il PHP o altro diventa un potenziale web server mobile [ con chiare limitazioni, ma per piccole applicazioni non sarebbe male,no? ]

Sempre piu’ convinto di acquistarlo, e sembra che non sia il solo a pensarlo visto che la Nokia non riesce a star dietro agli ordini e fino a Gennaio 2006 non arriveranno altre consegne…
